William Penn Inn, part of the Underground Railroad

About

William Penn Inn, part of the Underground Railroad

The William Penn Inn (not to be confused with the inn of the same name in North Wales, PA) has a secret room that is believed to have hidden runaway slaves. The building was in jeopardy, but is now being preserved as a condo project. See the Philadelphia Inquirer, 11/22/15, at p. J6.
