Sonic Youth Members Worked Here (Todd's Copy); Killer Fanzine; Dan Graham; Weiner; Basquiat
Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon of the band Sonic Youth worked here circa 1980 when it was Todd's Copy, according to the New York Times Style Magazine, 4/22/18, at p. 78. In the article by Mr. Moore, he says that Todd Jorgensen, who formerly ran the Xerox machine at the famed Jamie Canvas art supply store, ran it. He wrote that filmmaker Sara driver also worked there, and artists that came into the store included Lawrence Weiner and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Moore made the copies for his fanzine, Killer, there, he wrote. Also see http://nymag.com/nymetro/realestate/neighborhoods/features/4180/index4.html. The NYT article mentions that artist Dan Graham lived upstairs here, and he recounts this fact at p. 132 of the same magazine edition.
