Marshall Littman, founder of Littman's jewelry company, had, at age 16, gotten "a job as a runner for a poker game in the basement of 732 Sansom St., on Jewelers' Row." There he met Marty Kimmal, a poker player and jeweler that offered him an apprenticeship as a bench jeweler, starting Mr. Littman's career. This information and quoted content is from Mr. Littman's obituary in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 2/27/20, at p. B8. It is not clear whether the basement is on the level of the semi-basement jewelry store, or lower. If you have better information, please comment below.
