Hotel Carlyle was in the Green Book.

About

Hotel Carlyle was in the Green Book.

"The Hotel Carlyle ...  was once one of the few Phila. hotels where Blacks could stay and was listed in the Green Book, teh guide used by Black travelers." Philadelphia Inquirer, 7/12/20, at pp. F1, F5. The film Green Book about musician Don Shirley gets its name from the Green-Book guides. There is a lot more to the history of this building. See, for ex., https://hiddencityphila.org/2015/09/bedding-down-at-the-hotel-carlyle/.
