Sarah Josepha Hale (1788-1879) lived her final years here. She was the author of the poem, Mary Had a Little Lamb (1830), and also the crusader who convinced Abraham Lincoln to make Thanksgiving Day a national holiday in 1863. See the Philadelphia Inquirer, 11/30/21014, at C2.
