Gabler's - was the best crab house in the history of the world!
This screened in pavilion on the Bush River had the best hard shell crabs I have ever eaten. It closed several years ago. I heard that the younger generation did not want to take over the business and the land is now condos. Too bad for crab lovers.

It gives one an idea of what Gablers rustic charm. The crab house is on the left, and the bathrooms are in the building with the giant crabs sign on it. Date : 2015-11-12
Name : plaquemaster Email : sjkc0072@aol.com Comments : This past Saturday we tried Captain Chris Crab Shack in North East, MD, and we think it is our replacement for Gablers. Nice size crabs. All the crabs and ears of corn you could eat for $18 a person (I believe the price fluctuates). Children under 5 got the same for free, and 6 to 18 year olds paid their ages. Any crabs that were served but you could not eat, you can take home for $1 each. It is outside so I imagine it can be hot and buggy at times, but it was beautiful the day we were there. Very nice wait staff. It does not have the charming setting that Gablers did, but it is a fun place. Date : 2016-06-21
