Declaration of Independence Written Here, Where Tom Thumb Hot Dogs Stood
Thomas Jefferson lived in the Graff House, where he drafted the Declaration of Independence. It was torn down, and a couple of buildings were here, including the Tom Thumb Hot Dog Stand (described in some places online as a diner. ) A replica of the Graff House built for the Bicentennial is here now. It needs refurbishing, and there are plans to fix it up. This information is from the Jeff Gammage article in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 7/19/15, at p. A2.
