Kennel Club, Rainbows, The Loft, were here, Philadelphia Night Clubs
Various night clubs were here in the 70s and 80s (one at time, but changing hands/names, and changing themes, slightly over time). I remember one of them had an outdoor bar where gladiator movies ran for the gay men's crowd, and it also had a room I heard called The Wet Shorts Room, which was supposedly for orgies, but I stayed clear of it. Quite a few decent bands played, or people went dancing at the clubs after seeing bands perform elsewhere earlier in the night. There is a lot about them on the Web, for ex., see http://articles.philly.com/1988-06-05/news/26268484_1_kennel-club-rock-music-youths. Kennel Club has a Facebook page, and someone is selling a Kennel Club t-shirt at https://www.etsy.com/listing/244239834/kennel-club-mens-tee?ref=shop_home_active_3. The building was razed and it's an anonymous parking lot now.
