American author/essayist Agnes Repplier (1855-1950), the American Jane Austen, lived here her entire life, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, 3/13/16, at p. H10, in a review citing the book Literary Philadelphia by Thom Nickels. From what I see on the Web, this building was the United Service Club, see https://books.google.com/books?id=eYCXJw0QcH8C&pg=PA424&lpg=PA424&dq=agnes+repplier+%22901+clinton%22&source=bl&ots=Tbmn17xr2V&sig=eXjLGfhR-ZI8uBaNkP-HKmTFSks&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi0uJHTzMDLAhWCFz4KHe-hAo4Q6AEIIzAB#v=onepage&q=agnes%20repplier%20%22901%20clinton%22&f=false, and provided recreation to service men, and this reference simply says that Agnes Repplier lived on Clinton Street. Mr. Nickels is a very good researcher, so perhaps he has found better information.
