YWCA was here in 1892.

YWCA was here in 1892.

This building has had many incarnations, starting as a YWCA in 1892. It was almost destroyed by a fire in 2006. It's been a hotel, a nightclub called the Taboo Room, and a flophouse called the Midston. It is now being developed as luxury apartments. See Inga Saffron's column in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 12/18/16, at pp. H18, 19.
