Radio Station was at Wanamaker's. News of the Titanic.

In 1907, John Wanamaker's department store was the first store to have a radio station. Beginning 5/22/1911, customers could exchange Marconigrams (Marconi radio messages) with ships in the Atlantic Ocean. In 1912, news of the sinking of the Titanic was learned over the Wanamaker radio. This information (as well other interesting facts) is from a wonderful Web page, at http://hiddencityphila.org/2014/01/william-penns-piercing-headache/.
