Sines, a real 5 & 10, in Quakertown, PA

This is a genuine five and dime, in business since 1912. It has a lot of fun things for kids, such as a toy train and airplanes hanging from the ceiling. It even has a soda fountain. Check out its Website.

Comments : My eleven-year-old son and I visited here today, and we love this place. It has some of the old Woolworths kind of merchandise you would expect in a 5 and 10, a Christmas room (dont tell anybody how cheap the C7 bubble lights are, as I dont want them bought up), a lunch counter, and a standard gauge train system with a 44-foot bridge and a 48-foot bridge that was built 1958-1960, and hundreds of 1/72 scale model airplanes. There is even an eleven-foot long model of the U.S.S. Akron airship, one of the builders of which worked on the actual airship. The store is decorated throughout with antique general store antiques. ... The store opened 8/10/1912 at 217 W. Broad St. (the News Agency is there now), and moved here on 12/4/1926. It has always been owned by the same family. ... This information is from flyers on display in the front of the store.
