Headquarters Road Bridge needs preservation - Tinicum, PA
This bridge over the Tinicum Creek is closed and needs repair and preservation. The bridge, built in 1812 with a deck replacement in 1919, represents the oldest stone pillar supports for a multi-span beam bridge in Pennsylvania. The concrete deck was designed by nationally recognized engineer A. Oscar Martin. The quotation is from an opinion piece by Kathryn Ann Auerback, historic preservation consultant, in the Bucks County Herald, 7/24/14, at p. A9.
