The famous Chicago School skyscraper architect Louis Sullivan took inspiration from this building, according to Inga Saffren's article in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 2/20/18, at pp. B1, B5. Her article concerned fire damage to the premises from the fire that destroyed the adjacent 239 Chestnut St. building. It is expected that 237 can be repaired, she wrote.
