Clarence Clemons, with the Broadways, Played Here

The late Clarence Clemons played here with the popular band The Broadways circa 1964. See https://www.app.com/story/entertainment/music/2015/01/11/rare-photo-clarence-clemons-backs-broadways-in-asbury/21614895/. In an interview with Southside Johnny Lyon in the Philadelphia Inquirer, May 10, 2019, pp. C1, 5, he was asked about the African American influence on music in the Asbury Park scene. Lyon said he listened to B.B. King here through a cracked window. He also mentioned that he and Bruce Springsteen would go to a place called Piner's Lounge. Googling "Orchid Lounge" with "New Jersey" brings up a little bit about this place. Not much found on Piner's Lounge, except that it appears to have been outside of the town of Asbury Park. Real estate listings indicate that the Orchid Lounge site is now vacant land.
