Quarry on Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA

The indentation in the earth that contains the athletic field for this junior high school is a result of it once being a stone quarry. Many buildings, mostly homes, in Northeast Philly and Lower Bucks County, have walls made from its stone. I'm estimating that the quarry was in operation about a half century ago. My family's home in nearby Bensalem used its stone for the front walls and the fireplace in 1961. I'd describe the stone as alternately goldish and creamy white. It is very attractive. Perhaps someone can shed more light on this topic.
