Educator and civil rights activist Octavius V. Catto (1838-1871) lived here. See the Philadelphia Inquirer, 2/27/15, at pp. B1, B2. The building was apparently demolished in about 1990, see http://www.preservationalliance.com/directory/aai/index.php/inventory/detail/267. There may be a real historic plaque at the site.
