Comments : The land here was once part of the 484-acre Roselawn Farms. I saw an auction flyer for when this land was sold by Trainman Auctioneers on 11/12/60.

Comments : According to The Institutes 2015 calendar, Loman Hall was originally built in 1940 as a country home for William McCahan, president of the Franklin Sugar Company, and his mother. Today, Loman Hall still has a 12 x 15 vault of poured concrete built into the foundation of the basement.

Comments : Workers in this building found a Prince Albert tobacco can with a piece of wood in it. On the wood was written Arey-Hauser Builder and H.E. Taylor Carpenter, August 10, 1939. Arey-Hauser was a large building contractor that built the Delaware County Courthouse in Media, Pa., and the Medical Tower Building in Philadelphia, PA, in 1930. See the Philadelphia Inquirer, 9/15/70, at p. 38. The U.S. Revolver Association Indoor League League championship was here, at the William McCahan Estate, in 1944, see the Philadelphia Inquirer, 3/6/44, at p. 17.

Comments : on the big lawn, if you walk on the path next to Providence Road, and are even with the driveway of the home across the street, you'll see a ghost roadway leading across the field. It was a construction vehicle road for when Kahler Hall was built, and the soil became too compacted for the grass to grow well there.

Comments : There was a tour yesterday and the ghost was identified as a 13-yr-old resident who died after an illness, Melissa Pakradooni. Also, an employee newsletter says Kahler Hall next door may be haunted, as one night 30 yrs ago doors were opening and an elevator moved by itself, baffling police an maintenance staff.
