A world's fair, the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, was held in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, May 8, 2019, pp. B1, B5, "Several dozen buildings from the fair were moved to the then-burgeoning New Jersey Shore, according to a 1976 New York Times story.
