Langhorne Speedway was here.

This speedway has always been dear to me because my grandfather had been a pit mechanic there. Wikipedia has much about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langhorne_Speedway

Comments : This famous raceway in Middletown Township was known as one of the most dangerous tracks in motorsports. Opened as a dirt oval in 1926, the Speedway attracted drivers from the Indianapolis 500, and also became a fixture on the early NASCAR circuit, hosting races until its closure in 1971. Join Joe Blinebury, a collaborator on the comprehensive history of the Speedway, for a look at the track’s history, and at some of the vehicles and legendary drivers who raced there. Attendees are invited to bring and share their own memories and mementoes of the track. Included with museum admission (free to members).

Comments : The Philadelphia Inquirer, 9/14/22, at pp. D1, D5, had an article, "Life and Death at Langhorne," by Mike Sielski. It got into how this was considered the most dangerous track in America, and recounted the death of Driver Larry Mann there on 9/14/52.
